The COUNT Function

The COUNT function lets you determine how many numbers are in a group of cells. It only counts the cells that actually contain a number, so empty cells (or cells with text) are ignored in the count.

    Sometimes you may have a group of cells that contain numerical and text values. 0:00
    Here we're looking at a sheet that has months and 0:03
    the total number of transacted sales that occurred in that month. 0:06
    Let's look at count in the context of this spreadsheet. 0:09
    So, I'm selecting, All 12 months, and it returns back 12. 0:14
    It's not the sum or the total of all the sales that occurred over the year. 0:23
    It's the number of cells that have been selected. 0:27
