And now that it's been added to the repository, let's commit it. Quiz

I am seem to be stuck on this, not sure if its a bug or I am missing something. Its the final quiz for getting started with Git. I get to the third question and we have to commit the index.html file that was just added. For some reason no matter what i type it wont show a correct answer. I have typed the following.

git commit -a -m "Added index" git commit index.html -m "Added index"

Any help?

What is the error message you are getting? Try leaving out the -a and just use -m.

This does not work as you've indicated: git commit -m "Added index" git commit index.html -m "Added index"

It doesn't like the single quotes. This did not work for me: $ git commit -m 'Added a readme file'

but this did: $ git commit -m "Added a readme file"
