Java Java Basics Perfecting the Prototype Parsing Integers

console input

Does all input from console comes in as String?

3 Answers

It does yes. If you want to read an any other type from console, like an integer you need to parse it from a string.

You can also input an integer value from a console. This would require you to import Scanner. Here is the code =>

import java.util.Scanner;

//...

Scanner in = new Scanner(System.in); int num = in.nextInt();
