10,499 PointsDo We Use the Download Files?
I don't understand where in this course we use the Zip file available for download. I went through the videos and built the profileSearch app from scratch without using the files available for download.

Treehouse StaffHi Brittany Halterman 👋
Project files that come with courses can serve different purposes, and you are not always required to use them. Some courses provide files as a starting point, with assets or boilerplate code to start the project. In other courses, like this one, they simply contain the code that's written during the course. These files serve as a reference point for when you get stuck, need to troubleshoot unexpected behavior, or want to verify that your code matches what is shown in the videos.
In this case, building the app from scratch without using the downloaded files is perfectly fine! Think of the provided files as a safety net, they're there to help you if you need them, but you can do without.
Hope this clears things up! 🙂
