Does anyone know the algorithm for the slice method? Just curious what is under the hood of this method?

Did a search online and all I could seem to find was how to use the slice method and not the intricacies of the method itself.

Google provides the source code for the V8 JavaScript engine. You'll find the implementation of "slice" starting at about line 551 in the string.js module, but it's essentially just a wrapper for "StringSubstring" at line 685.
