First time with index, I can't seem to solve it

I don't understand what I am supposed to write, I'm completely stumped. Can someone explain what I'm supposed to do?

Make a variable called var1, where var1[5] = t. Here we will make a string variable. Remember that variables start at position 0.

var1 = "01234t"
