and if yes then why do you have to do that, before i was taught without the alt at the end so can someone explain in simple terms why he did this.

4,836 PointsBasically the alt attribute is there incase the image cannot be displayed (slow connection, bad src attribute etc..). it can be an image or a piece of text.
