Header has a div with the class container (width 70%), so how come header still covers the full width of the viewport?

The other div with the class "container", which is the main content of the page, does only cover 70% of the viewport.

It's not clear what course and lesson you are referring to. You might want to take a look at this video about Posting a Question, which explains how to associate your question with a lesson.
