help with functions

Not sure what I am doing wrong...

"After your newly created returnValue function, create a new variable named echo. Set the value of echo to be the results from calling the returnValue function. When you call the returnValue function, make sure to pass in any string you'd like for the parameter. "

You're very close! Just remember that after a return statement inside a function, nothing else will execute. You need to move the 'echo' declaration outside of that function like this:

function returnValue(unit){
  return unit;
}

var echo = returnValue("Hello World");
// echo now equals "Hello World"
