Ruby Ruby Loops Ruby Loops The While Loop

How is this code incorrect?

I don't understand why my loops aren't working. Please help.

loop.rb
def some_loop
  i=0
  while i < 5
    i += 1
  end
end

The variable i is bound to the scope of the function. The i inside your function is separate from the i outside of it.

If you want to use your function in the code challenge, you can use it in the following way:

i = 0

def some_loop
    i = 0
    while i < 5
        i += 1
    end
    i
end

i = some_loop

Thank you for explaining that for me, Robert! I really appreciate it. That worked.

You're welcome! I'm glad you got it figured out :)
