document.write("<h1>Welcome to JavaScrpit Basics</h1>");

yes, take off h1 tag out of your code, and it will be fine.

If you're using document.write, you do not need the header tags. It should look like this (it should be nested in the <script> tags):

<script>
document.write("Welcome to JavaScript Basics");
</script>

If you add your javascript file into your index.html it should work

The h1 tags will define an h1 element so can be left as is
