JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Creating Reusable Code with Functions Passing an Argument to a Function

I am lost on this problem

I am not sure what exactly it's telling me to do and I've been looking over the code for a while

script.js
function returnValue(valueReturned) {
  return valueReturned;
  var echo = valueReturned;
}
returnValue('hello');
index.html
<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
  <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
  <title>JavaScript Basics</title>
</head>
<body>
<script src="script.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

What was the instruction? What error did it produce when you submitted your answer?

Your code passes for me, try resetting the challenge and then copy and paste this code into your JS file.

function returnValue(valueReturned) {
  return valueReturned;
  var echo = valueReturned;
}
returnValue('hello');
