Here's a few hints:

  • you haven't defined anything named "passphrase" so you can't reference it
  • this challenge doesn't use "console.log"
  • the "toUpperCase" function does not take an argument
  • you still need to assign a value to "userName"

You need to assign uppercased id to userName variable

var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";

var userName = id.toUpperCase();

// var userName = id.toUpperCase() + '#' + lastName.toUpperCase();
