I just completed the exercise with the following code in the onCreate method. If you're still getting an error, can you post what the error says?

mSpaceship = new Spaceship("FIREFLY");
mTypeLabel.setText(mSpaceship.getType());
mPassengersField.setText(mSpaceship.getNumPassengers() + "");

Jon, thanks a lot, but the compiler is still saying is wrong.

Bummer! There is a compiler error. Please click on preview to view your syntax errors!

Hmm, that is odd since it marked mine as correct a couple of minutes ago.

Could you repost the entirety of your code again with the modification and the error, if it gives one.

(```) import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.View; import android.widget.Button; import android.widget.EditText;

public class LandingActivity extends Activity {

public Button mThrustButton;
public TextView mTypeLabel;
public EditText mPassengersField;

public Spaceship mSpaceship;

@Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
    super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
    setContentView(R.layout.activity_landing);

    mThrustButton = (Button)findViewById(R.id.thrustButton);
    mTypeLabel = (TextView)findViewById(R.id.typeTextView);
    mPassengersField = (EditText)findViewById(R.id.passengersEditText);

    // Add your code here!
    mSpaceship = new Spaceship("FIREFLY");
    mTypeLabel.setText(mSpaceship.getType());
    mPassengersField.setText(mSpaceship.getNumPassengers() + "");

); } } (```)

Try removing your last ');'

    }
}

OMG... i did't see... thanks a LOT JON!!!!!!!

No problem!

A simple way of changing an int to a String is to add "" to the int.

String numAsString = mSpaceship.getNumPassengers() + "";

You could use your method of converting an int to a String, but you need to add '()' to the end of "getNumPassengers" since that's how you call a method, as opposed to attempting to access a public field directly.

 String num = Integer.toString(mSpaceship.getNumPassengers());

It not working yet. The question is : Finally, notice that our Spaceship class has a new field to store the number of passengers in the ship. Use the method to get the number of passengers for mSpaceship, and then set the text for mPassengersField to this value. Note: You will need to convert the int value to a String!

i tried to:

// Add your code here! mSpaceship = new Spaceship("FIREFLY"); mTypeLabel.setText(mSpaceship.getType()); //------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ mPassengersField.setText(mSpaceship.getNumPassengers() + "" );

Not working.

//------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ mPassengersField.setText(Integer.toString(mSpaceship.getNumPassengers()));

Not working

//------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- mPassengersField.setText(String.valueOf(mSpaceship.getNumPassengers()));

and not working.... i do not what is!...

thank you for help me.
