I copied your code and just noticed you have #gallery li twice. First one should just be #gallery.

#gallery li {  <---- remove the li here
  margin: 0;
  padding: 0;
  list-style: none;
}

#gallery li {
  float: left;
  width: 45%;
  margin: 2.5%;
  background-color: #f5f5f5;
  color: #bdc3c7;
}

Don't forget to add a semicolon ; behind the width value.

    width: 28.3333%;  <--- here 
}
