Something wrong with the index.

I don't understand what I'm doing wrong, Not sure if I can use items[0] though.

breaks.py 
items = []

def loopy(items):
  for item in items:
    if items[0] == "a":
      continue
    else:
      print(item)

items[0] should be item[0].
