Type vs Instance methods

HI, I am confused on the difference between type and instance methods. I am hearing that type methods are called on the type itself, but I am not sure what that means.

Great question!

  • Instance methods - methods that are called on the instances of the class
  • Type methods - can be called directly inside the code block of the class, without instantiating that class

Well, type methods outside of the class (just by themselves) are just functions
