Python Python Basics Meet Python Using Input

Using Input

I've seen other solutions answered and it appears that I am doing everything correctly but I am really confused by the AssertionError and the Mauve color? Not sure where they are getting that?

Bummer: AssertionError: 'Mauve' not found in 'The color favorite_color,is a great color!' : Make sure you are printing out 'The color Mauve is a great color!' (Mauve is my favorite that I inputted)

using_input.py
favorite_color = input("what is your favorite color")
print("The color", "favorite_color," "is a great color!")

Hi Michael, theres two problems with your code:

  • There shouldn't be any speech marks around favorite_color as it is a variable, but when you put speech marks around it, it gets treated as the literal string of 'favorite_color'

  • There needs to be a space after color (before the closing speech mark)

the answer is

favorite_color = input("what is your favorite color? ") print("the color", favorite_color, "is a great color! ")

I appreciate the help, guys. Thanks so much
