In the previous video Dave said this was possible yet it's not accepted, can anyone tell me why exactly?

var echo = returnValue("What sort of number is it?");
In your version, the function was defined as taking a parameter, but when you call the function and put its result into "echo", there's no string inside the parentheses so it will return nothing. Then on the next line you called the function properly with a string, but the result doesn't go into anything.
